Jason K. Mathewson Memorial Scholarship

THE DEADLINE FOR THIS SCHOLARSHIP HAS PASSED.
Initiated by the Marysville F.F.A. Alumni, Jason’s family, and friends, this scholarship is awarded annually to a graduating MHS student with at least 3 years membership in the F.F.A.

Lucy Ellen Haywood Pastoral and Missionary Scholarship

This scholarship was founded in 2020 in memory of Lucy Ellen Haywood. Lucy's faith was of the highest priority in her life and her guiding light. She spent many decades teaching and modeling her Christian faith. As such, via her last will and testament, she included provision to lend financial support to those men and women who choose to pursue the field of ministry.
In 2023, two $2,000 scholarships were awarded.

Josh Huffman Memorial Scholarship

This scholarship will be awarded to a graduating senior girl who has been a member of the Marysville girls tennis team. The scholarship recipient will be chosen based on the following: commitment to the sport of tennis and the Marysville tennis program as well as an intent to continue her passion for tennis after graduation. Applicants must be scheduled for enrollment in a post-secondary accredited college, university, or technical school.
This scholarship is new for 2024.

The Marilyn Shearer Memorial Scholarship

The scholarship is dedicated to the memory of Marilyn Shearer, a member of the Union County Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, whose generous contribution helped underwrite this scholarship. It recognizes the values the DAR espouses: good citizenship and service to the community. You must be a graduating female senior of North Union, Marysville, or Fairbanks High Schools OR a female descendant of the Hannah Emerson Dustin Chapter DAR - Union County members of 2019 or prior.
In 2023, two $2,000 scholarships were awarded.

The Summer Theater Workshop Scholarship

The scholarship is available to any graduating senior who resides in Union County and who has participated in Summer Theater Workshop.
In 2023, one $500 scholarship was awarded.

Dave & Elizabeth Ward Eagle Scout Scholarship

The Dave & Elizabeth Ward Eagle Scout Scholarship is available to any graduating senior residing in Union County who is scheduled for enrollment in a four year college or university, and has achieved the scouting rank of Eagle.
In 2023, one $500 scholarship was awarded.

Dave & Elizabeth Ward Music Scholarship

The Dave & Elizabeth Ward Music Scholarship is available to a graduating senior who resides in Union County who is scheduled for enrollment in a four year college or university, and is planning to major in music.

Dublin Jerome High School

Charles E. Bynner and Carole Wendy Bynner Scholarship

This scholarship is awarded to graduating seniors from Dublin Jerome, Fairbanks, Jonathan Alder, or affiliate schools. It honors Charles & Wendy Bynner, longtime residents of Union County, who are keenly aware of the importance of education.
In 2023, a total of two $1,000 scholarships were awarded to applicants from all three schools.

Lucy Ellen Haywood Pastoral and Missionary Scholarship

This scholarship was founded in 2020 in memory of Lucy Ellen Haywood. Lucy's faith was of the highest priority in her life and her guiding light. She spent many decades teaching and modeling her Christian faith. This scholarship was established in 2014 by the medical staff of Memorial to support post-secondary education in a medical-related or science discipline for graduating seniors who reside in Union County.
In 2023, five $1,000 scholarships (renewable for up to 3 additional years) were awarded.

Sargent V. Chamberlain Kiwanis Scholarship

This scholarship was started in 2002 and is underwritten by stock that was generously donated by Sargent Chamberlain, a longtime Marysville resident. The scholarship is awarded annually to a graduating senior of Fairbanks High School.
In 2023, one $1,000 scholarship was awarded.

Ben & Mary Coleman Scholarship

This renewable scholarship is available to graduating seniors from Fairbanks, Marysville, Ohio Hi-Point Career Center, North Union, Tolles Technical & Career Center, and Tri-Rivers Career Center who intend to pursue agricultural studies at a post secondary institution.
In 2023, three $2,000 scholarships (renewable for $2,000 a year for up to 3 additional years) were awarded.

The David Fisher Scholarship

This scholarship was created by the Fairbanks High School Class of 1965 in loving memory of Vietnam Veteran David Fisher (K.I.A.). The scholarship will be awarded to a graduating Fairbanks High School student. Because Spec 5 David Fisher served as a medic in the army, preference will be given to applicants planning to pursue a course of study in Emergency Medicine (ex: paramedic, nurse's aide, nursing), or Public Safety Service (ex: EMT, Firefighter, Police), or mechanical career opportunities. Consideration will be given to other fields of study based on the pool of applicants.
In 2023, one $1,800 scholarship and one $1,200 scholarship were awarded.

Darla Hall-Barrett Memorial Scholarship for the Arts

Mrs. Hall-Barrett was passionate about the arts, and brought the arts to students through an artist in residency program and through her puppetry. Her generous donation to Fairbanks allows for this scholarship in her honor.
In 2023, one scholarship of $2,000 and two scholarships of $1,000 were awarded.

This scholarship is given in honor of Jerry May, a former Jonathan Alder board member and founder of the Jonathan Alder Education Foundation. Awarded to a student planning to major in Business, Finance, Music, or Education. Preference given to students currently participating in music or athletic extra-curricular activities.

Pat Conlon Scholarship

The Pat Conlon Scholarship for Marysville Students was established by her adult children in honor of their mother and long-time Marysville resident, Pat Conlon. The scholarship is awarded in Pat Conlon’s honor and memory to recognize students that exemplify the qualities she modeled and espoused – strong character, academic achievement, leadership, and school and community involvement.
In 2023, one $1,250 scholarship (renewable for three additional years) was awarded.

Andrew Daum Memorial Soccer Scholarship

This scholarship is in loving memory of Andrew Daum, MHS class of 2004. Andy was an exceptionally gifted varsity soccer athlete and supporter of Marysville athletics. He was a talented artist, a good friend to many, and a special and beloved son to his parents. His love for the game of soccer and for those who share that passion are to be honored through this scholarship.
In 2023, two $1,000 scholarships were awarded: one to a female athlete, and one a male athlete.

Robert & Joan Deaton Memorial Scholarship

The Robert & Joan Deaton Memorial Scholarship was founded in 2016 in memory of Robert & Joan. In the mid 1960's Bob and Joan moved from New York City to Marysville to raise their 3 children. Joan spent over 15 years as the Marysville Middle School librarian and both were active members of the community. Bob and Joan built their world around their family and were strong proponents of education. Scholarship recipients will be chosen on the basis of: financial need, academic achievement, and special family circumstances.

Larry & Jan Dunn Scholarship

This scholarship was created in loving memory of Larry Dunn by Jan Dunn. It perpetuates Larry and Jan's passion for education and appreciation for those who make education their vocation.
In 2023, one $1,000 scholarship was awarded.

The Charles and Marjorie Green Scholarship

Established in July of 1999, Charles Green’s widow Marjorie, and his family members initiated this scholarship Fund. Eligible Marysville and Ohio Hi-Point students must be pursuing post high-school trade or technical training including diploma, certificate, and associate degree programs. (Examples: restaurant mgt., cosmetology, mechanics, auto body, allied medicine, etc.)
In 2023, two scholarships of $2,500 each were awarded.

Hearts of Gold and Courage: Devon Burke Scholarship

The Hearts of Gold and Courage scholarships were created to honor the memory of Devon Burke and Collin Tanner and help celebrate their passion, optimism and strength, while helping other students ful?ll their college dreams. Devon Burke was a 2016 MHS graduate. He bravely fought Ewing's Sarcoma for 6 years and lost his battle to cancer on June 24, 2019. Applicants must submit an essay describing challenges they have faced and have a minimum GPA of 3.0.

Hearts of Gold and Courage: Collin Tanner Scholarship

The Hearts of Gold and Courage scholarships were created to honor the memory of Devon Burke and Collin Tanner and help celebrate their passion, optimism and strength, while helping other students ful?ll their college dreams. Collin Tanner was a 2021 graduate of MHS, who bravely fought Osteosarcoma for 5 years and lost his battle to cancer on September 4, 2021. Applicants must submit an essay describing challenges they have faced and have a minimum GPA of 3.0.
In 2023, one $1,000 scholarship was awarded.

Corey Hoehn Memorial Scholarship

This scholarship is available to graduating members of Marysville boys’ football, baseball, or basketball teams, or girls’ softball or basketball teams who are scheduled for enrollment in a post-secondary two- or four-year accredited college or university. Must have a 3.0 GPA or above.
In 2023, two $1,000 scholarships were awarded.

G.L. Kingsmore Hall of Fame Scholarship

This scholarship is available to graduating Marysville students -- not restricted to athletes -- who are scheduled for enrollment in a 2 year or 4 year post-secondary accredited college or university.
Must have a 2.5 GPA or above.
In 2023, four $1,000 scholarships were awarded.

Marysville High School Alumni Foundation Scholarship

These annual awards by the Marysville High School Alumni support scholarships for graduating Marysville students who have displayed outstanding academic and leadership qualities. Multiple awards are made for some scholarships. Applicants are automatically considered for the following scholarships:

Dr. C.B. Mills Memorial Kiwanis Scholarship

Two separate Kiwanis Scholarship funds were developed in 2002 to provide scholarships to promising area students.
The Dr. C.B. Mills Memorial-Kiwanis College Scholarship Fund benefits a Marysville student. These awards are based on qualities such as character, industriousness, class rank, perseverance, need, and integrity.
In 2023, one $1,000 scholarship was awarded.

The Mintier Veteran’s Scholarship

This scholarship was created by the family and friends of Bob Mintier for the purpose of assisting veteran’s children who are also Marysville graduating seniors and display exceptional character and citizenship. The scholarship award may be applied to any 2-year technical college or accredited four-year college or university.
In 2023, one $1,000 scholarship was awarded.

Northwest Neighborhood Alliance Scholarship

This scholarship was created in 2022 by David and Jean Thornton and David’s sister Twyla (Jim) Elliott. The fund was started with monies left over from the Northwest Neighborhood Alliance that fought the commercial egg farms coming to Union County in the early 2000s. It is awarded to a graduating Marysville High School student with an interest in conservation and environmental science, and demonstrated community involvement.

Pat and Tom Nuckles Scholarship

This scholarship is available to graduating high school seniors from Marysville and Triad who are pursuing a post-secondary education. The scholarship may be applied to any accredited two-year or four-year college, university, or technical school.
In 2023, one $1,000 scholarship was awarded.

Lya Snider Music Scholarship

The Lya Snider Music Scholarship for Marysville graduating seniors was established in loving memory of Lya Snider. Lya loved music and it was always a major part of her life. She received a Bachelors of Music degree from Heidelberg University in 1949. After moving to Marysville in 1957, she spent the next 60 years performing and directing vocal music until her death in February 2017. Music was part of her very being.

Burnside/Imbody/Fish Scholarship

THE DEADLINE FOR THIS SCHOLARSHIP HAS PASSED.
The Burnside/Imbody/Fish Scholarship is funded through a consolidation of separate bequests of Sara Mae Burnside, Kathleen Imbody, and Julia Mae Fish. All of these women were dedicated to the importance of advanced education and desired to assist graduates of North Union High School in achieving that goal.

Bob and Eula Jean Davis Memorial Scholarship

THE DEADLINE FOR THIS SCHOLARSHIP HAS PASSED.
The Fund memorializes the lives of York Center High School and Richwood High School graduates Bob and Eula Jean Davis. The Davis’ three children all graduated from North Union High School. This annual scholarship is awarded to a graduating North Union student who models excellence in academics, school activities, and community service.

Larry & Jan Dunn Scholarship

This scholarship was created in loving memory of Larry Dunn by Jan Dunn. It perpetuates Larry and Jan’s passion for education and appreciation for those who make education their vocation.
In 2023, one $1,000 scholarship was awarded.

Robert M. Fox Scholarship

THE DEADLINE FOR THIS SCHOLARSHIP HAS PASSED.
This Scholarship was funded by Ruby Fox in memory of Robert. Robert Fox devoted his life to agriculture and instilled a passion and love of education to his family.

The Donald Jolliff Family Scholarship

THE DEADLINE FOR THIS SCHOLARSHIP HAS PASSED.
This scholarship was created in loving memory of James Donald “Don” Jolliff. Don graduated from Leesburg-Magnetic High School in 1949. Following high school Don was stationed overseas with the United States army during the Korean War conflict He was a devoted father, husband, grandfather and friend to many. He devoted his life to the two things he loved most: his family and farming.

William Logan Krebehenne Memorial Scholarship

THE DEADLINE FOR THIS SCHOLARSHIP HAS PASSED.
This scholarship honors the life and memory of William Logan Krebehenne (1987-2016). Logan was an athlete and avid outdoorsman. His devotion to his family and friends left a lasting impression on many in his short life. This scholarship is awarded to graduating North Union High School seniors active in athletics, and pursuing an agricultural/natural resources related major.

Dan B. Kyle Scholarship

This scholarship was established in April, 1994 in Dan’s memory by his loving family. Dan was the president of the Richwood Banking Company and was a leader in the Richwood business community. The scholarship is awarded to qualified seniors at North Union High School who are going into the field of Finance or Education.

Memorial Hospital Medical Staff Scholarship

This scholarship was established in 2014 by the medical staff of Memorial to support post-secondary education in a medical-related or science discipline for graduating seniors who reside in Union County.
In 2023, five $1,000 scholarships (renewable for up to 3 additional years) were awarded.

Conner Ann Miller Memorial Scholarship

THE DEADLINE FOR THIS SCHOLARSHIP HAS PASSED.
This scholarship was created in loving memory of Conner Ann Miller. Conner graduated from North Union High School in 2017. She was an outstanding member of FFA, an advocate and supporter of the Richwood Fair, a member of the Richwood Fair Board, and a devoted and dear friend to many.

Northwest Neighborhood Alliance Scholarship

This scholarship was created in 2022 by David and Jean Thornton and David’s sister Twyla (Jim) Elliott. The fund was started with monies left over from the Northwest Neighborhood Alliance that fought the commercial egg farms coming to Union County in the early 2000s. It is awarded to a graduating North Union student with an interest in conservation and environmental science, and demonstrated community involvement.
In 2023, one $2,000 scholarship was awarded.

Rita Rubeck Parker Scholarship

THE DEADLINE FOR THIS SCHOLARSHIP HAS PASSED.
Rita Rubeck Parker established this scholarship in memory of her father, Bernard “Barney” Rubeck. One of 9 children growing up during the Depression, Barney had to leave school after the 8th grade to work and help his family. He always stressed the importance of education and knew the financial burden the cost of higher education could place on families.

Richwood Area Business Association Scholarship

THE DEADLINE FOR THIS SCHOLARSHIP HAS PASSED.
The Richwood Area Business Association Scholarship was created for the purpose of assisting graduating seniors from North Union High School and Tri-Rivers Career Center who intend to pursue a post-secondary education in the general field of business.

The Seiter Family Memorial Scholarship

THE DEADLINE FOR THIS SCHOLARSHIP HAS PASSED.
This scholarship was created in loving memory of L. Wayne Seiter. Wayne graduated from Prospect High School in 1954. He was an outstanding member of FFA and a student athlete. Graduating North Union Seniors are eligible.Selection will be based on academics, community service, athletic participation, agriculture connection, financial need.

The Marilyn Shearer Memorial Scholarship

The scholarship is dedicated to the memory of Marilyn Shearer, a member of the Union County Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, whose generous contribution helped underwrite this scholarship. It recognizes the values the DAR espouses: good citizenship and service to the community. You must be a graduating female senior of North Union, Marysville, or Fairbanks High Schools OR a female descendant of the Hannah Emerson Dustin Chapter DAR – Union County members of 2019 or prior.
In 2023, two $2,000 scholarships were awarded.

The Summer Theater Workshop Scholarship

The scholarship is available to any graduating senior who resides in Union County and who has participated in Summer Theater Workshop.
In 2023, one $500 scholarship was awarded.

Dave & Elizabeth Ward Eagle Scout Scholarship

The Dave & Elizabeth Ward Eagle Scout Scholarship is available to any graduating senior residing in Union County who is scheduled for enrollment in a four year college or university, and has achieved the scouting rank of Eagle.
In 2023, one $500 scholarship was awarded.

Dave & Elizabeth Ward Music Scholarship

The Dave & Elizabeth Ward Music Scholarship is available to a graduating senior who resides in Union County who is scheduled for enrollment in a four year college or university, and is planning to major in music.
In 2023, one $500 scholarship was awarded.

 

Triad High School

Lucy Ellen Haywood Pastoral and Missionary Scholarship

This scholarship was founded in 2020 in memory of Lucy Ellen Haywood. Lucy's faith was of the highest priority in her life and her guiding light. She spent many decades teaching and modeling her Christian faith. As such, via her last will and testament, she included provision to lend financial support to those men and women who choose to pursue the field of ministry.
In 2023, two $2,000 scholarships were awarded.
